Rabbi Aaron BergmanRABBI AARON BERGMAN is a native Detroiter and a graduate of the University of Michigan. He was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary, and pursued additional graduate work in Jewish Folklore at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He was part of the educators¹ program at the Shalom Hartman Institute.
Rabbi Bergman served as a rabbi at Congregation Beth Ahm and was Rabbi-in-Residence at Hillel Day School. He was the founding Director of Jewish Studies at the Frankel Jewish Academy and has been an instructor in the Melton Adult Education program. He is also a regular featured columnist for the Detroit News Faith and Policy section. Rabbi Rachel ShereRABBI RACHEL SHERE is a native Detroiter. She grew up at Adat
Shalom Synagogue and graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Rabbi Shere studied Torah at the Pardes Institute in Jerusalem and received her rabbinic ordination from the University of Judaism in Los Angeles. She has been a rabbi with Adat Shalom since 2004 and loves being a part of its high energy team. In addition to working closely with Adat Shalom’s family educator, religious school and early childhood center directors, she enjoys facilitating interactive Torah study classes. In addition to working at Adat Shalom, Rabbi Shere works for the Jewish Hospice of Michigan where her goal is to create peace, holiness and wholeness at the end of life. She also serves on the Board of Kadima, a Detroit based organization devoted to mental health and wellness. Rabbi Shere and her husband Dan feel blessed to be the parents of three sons, Eitan, Avi and Ezra. |
Dr. Joel KahnJoel Kahn MD is Clinical Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine and Medical Director of Preventive Cardiology, Detroit Medical Center. He is on staff at Harper Hospital and Beaumont Hospitals. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan Inteflex Medical Program Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Stacey FrancisStacey Francis DC is a chiropractic kinesiologist and nutritional consultant practicing in the metro Detroit area for the last 20 years. She has published articles and book chapters on alternative therapies, healthy lifestyles and the ups and downs of parenting. Dr Francis created the Enrichment and Wellness Festival, a day of empowering the metro Detroit community, that was held at Adat Shalom Synagogue.
